Tera T. Batterson Schmelzer, 60, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at St. Thomas West Hospital, Nashville, Tenn..
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Chippiannock Cemetery Chapel, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St A, Moline, Ill. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.
Tera was born September 15, 1964, in Davenport, the daughter of Howard and Karen (Aanerud) Batterson. She was raised by Shirley Batterson since she was 2 years old. She married Troy Schmelzer in October, 2010, in Nashville, Tenn.
Tera managed several apartment complexes in Nashville and Dallas. She enjoyed art and cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Troy; children, Celtain Batterson, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Donovan Craig, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, Rhys Batterson and Memphis Craig; father, Howard (Shirley) Batterson, Bettendorf; sisters, Joyce Batterson, Bettendorf, and Tana (Tommy Mickelson) Sanders, Nashville; brother, Deren (Michelle) Batterson, Davenport; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Noel Batterson Reynolds.
