FULTON–Thomas Paul Doty, 82, of Fulton, died on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Thomas was born on July 25, 1940 in Sterling, IL, the son of Arthur and Lillian (Lott) Doty. He married Barbara Full on January 1, 1965 in Dixon, IL. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2015. Thomas was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Albany, IL, as well as the Knights of Columbus, where he served as a 4th degree member. Thomas enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends, sports, and taking annual trips to Texas.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Doty of Fulton, IL, and Timothy (Kathy) Doty of Eldridge, IA; two brothers, Don (Barb) Doty of Manitou, IL, and Terry (Mary) Doty of Dixon, IL; four grandchildren, Travis (Sophia) Doty, Trenten Doty, Ryan Doty, all of Cedar Falls, IA, and Megan Doty of Eldridge, IA.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; and one sister, Doris Smith.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30am on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1201 N. Bluff St, Albany, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am, with Reverend James Keenan officiating. Burial will conclude at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus #9972, Albany, IL.
