Steven Albert Benavidez, 71, of Tucumcari NM was called home on June 9th, 2023. Born July 5th, 1951, to Mike and Mary Benavidez in Tucumcari NM. They later would move to Los Angeles CA where Steven would attend the public schools there. He joined the service in 1969-1971. A little while later he found the Love of his life Jeanne and married on March 13,1973. They lived their lives between LA, San Diego, New Mexico, and Oregon. They finally settled in Tucumcari NM August 2, 1987, where they raised their 5 children, and made it their home. He loved to wheel and deal; he made his living doing so. He enjoyed talking to any and everyone about life, politics, religion. He always helped a stranger in need. He also enjoyed having a cigarette and a nice cold beer. Steven enjoyed having his kids, and grandchildren around for cookouts, family vacations, a game of baseball, kickball, or just sitting around talking.
Surviving Family is his beloved wife Jeanne Benavidez of 50 years, Daughter Anna, and Mike Crespin. Son Steven and Ann Benavidez. Daughter Angela and Bryan Gonzales. Daughter Jeannemarie Benavidez, all of Tucumcari NM, Daughter Lorena and Bruce Waddle of St. Louis MO, Grandchildren, Amanda and Robert Bowling, Brandon Aragon of Tucumcari, Julieana and Marcus Martinez of Albuquerque NM, Gloriana Salas of Colorado Springs CO, Steven Benavidez, Jesse Benavidez, Kaitlyn Benavidez, Dezirae Crespin of Tucumcari. Connor Waddle of St. Louis MO, and Joshua Gonzales of Tucumcari NM, One Great Granddaughter Aria Bowling of Tucumcari NM. Surviving Siblings David Benavidez, Lisa Cabrera, Edwina Alderson, Jenny Lopez, Dennis Benavidez, Elizabeth Galvez, and Geno Benavidez. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in Death by his parents Mike and Mary Benavidez. Father and Mother-in-law, Don, and Ruth Condon. Sister Jennie Belle Anunciation, and Joe Chris Martinez.
