Alexander Papke Obituary
Alex was born on November 16, 1957 to George and Nancy Papke in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Davenport Central High School. He served in the United States Army and later worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois, until he retired.
In 1980, Alex met the love of his life, Paula Schweitzer. After a whirlwind courtship, they married and had two children, Paul (Chris) Papke (Alexis, Illinois) and Emily (RJ Martin) Papke-Corey (Gilbert, Arizona). His three grandchildren, Abigail Papke, Zachary Papke and Kingston Martin, were the great joys of his life.
Alex was known for his storytelling and his humor. He never met a stranger or a boundary.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Alicia Smith.
Services are pending. A memorial service will be held in the Quad Cities in the spring. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.

Alex was a great guy to work with and support during the time working at the arsenal with him. I am sorry for the loss to the family and pray for inner healing.

Paula - So sorry to hear. Yes, it was a whirlwind courtship. I remember working with you and Alex´s Mom, Nancy, at the Rock Island Arsenal. Alex was home on leave from the military and once you two met, that was it. Prayers to your family.
