DAVENPPORT-Carol Jean Frields, 82 of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Fort Armstrong in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2 pm at The Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 12- 2pm at the mortuary. Carol requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Suicide Prevention Lifeline in memory of her brother Rex Brammann. Carol will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery.
Carol Jean Brammann was born September 5, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa. The daughter of Earl and Francis (Howard) Brammann. She was a 1957 graduate of Davenport High School and continued her education at Scott Community College. She is a retired Social Worker, having worked at Oak Terrace. She married George Frields on August 15, 1958 and had five loving children.
Carol was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Survivors include her children: Diana Frields, Heidi (Chuck) Barton, Dave (Julie) Frields, Brenda (Frields) Isenberger, all of Davenport, Iowa, and Yvette (Showket) Ahamed of Mineola, New York; sister Kay Cook, Marion, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grand child.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rex Brammann, sister Norine Fredrick, son-in-law Albert Stouffer and longtime friend, Anita Beck.
Carol enjoyed going to the local casinos and was a Green Bay Packers fan her whole adult life.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Fort Armstrong, (employees) for their exceptional care and compassion given to Carol over last several years and Hospice for their final compassion during these tough times.
