Buck had proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2009 from John Deer after 36 years of service.
Buck was a strong, gentle, tough guy with a big heart. He was very family oriented, going to all of his sons' baseball games, and he loved spending time with his granddaughter, Isabelle. He enjoyed listening to old rock n' roll music and was an avid baseball fan. His favorite team was the New York Yankees.
Those celebrating his life are his loving wife of 38 years, Jane White; sons, Charles W. White of Davenport, IA and Shane M. (Aleah) White of Davenport, IA; granddaughter, Isabelle Marie; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandy Carlson; and brother, Billy White.

I had the pleasure of working on this mans wonderful head of hair every month for the last 4 years! He always came in with a smile, even as his sickness progressed. He told me the best stories and always gave great advice. Buck and Jane are always a pleasure to be around. We've shared so many laughs that I will forever cherish! What a beautiful soul.

Uncle Buck you will be missed by so many people. I'll never forget your infectious laugh. I still remember being your flower girl at yours and Aunt Janes wedding. Which is where my love for lighthouses began. You offered me advice and a shoulder to cry on when my dad passed. I know Dad and Sean were there to welcome you home now. Rest In Peace. I'll miss you!

I was lucky to grow up living 3 doors down from Uncle Buck. I could drop in anytime and I did. Over and over again. I think my affinity came from Buck treating me like a son, building model rockets, teaching my about science, not letting me touch his drums, and he had Pong! Oh, how I wanted to play that damn game and those sparkly drums. After I grew up, nothing changed. I still loved hanging out with Uncle Buck, I got my own drums, and he always had something interesting to say and Captain Morgan to pour. I love my Uncle Buck, and I'll miss him greatly.
