BETTENDORF-Connie M. King, 82, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Columbia, South Carolina (SC). She resided, in Columbia, with her daughter, Karen, for the past six years. Born March 27, 1941, in Bloomington, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M." Jack" Kimler and Louise Sutter Kimler.

Connie grew up on the family farm in LeRoy, Illinois. She loved riding and caring for her horse. Her greatest passion was spending time doting on her five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services where she assisted thousands of people obtain much needed benefits. Connie was an avid reader and enjoyed walking daily. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Survivors include her three children, Lary Thomas "Tom" King of Bettendorf, Iowa, Karen L. Williams of Columbia, SC, and Connie K. "Karlene" King of Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren, David Williams (Eulonda), Ashley Williams, Erica Williams, Parker King, and Lauren Summage; great grandchildren, Malakai Kornegay, Amirah Kornegay, Imani Stroy, Skylar Stroy, Micah Williams, Cathren Williams, and Camren Williams; as well as her sisters, Joyce Raber (Bill) and Judy Rummel (Bill).

The memorial service for Ms. King will be held at 1 o'clock, Monday, May 1st, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 1022 E. 39th Street, Davenport, Iowa 52807.

The family especially thanks the staff of Watercrest Senior Living, Columbia, SC and AllSeasons Hospice, Irmo, SC for the care and comfort provided while she was in their care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Dementia Society of America by visiting https://www.dementiasociety.org/memorials. The memorial service for Ms. King will be held at a future date.
