MOLINE-Dale R. Kruse, 94, of Moline, passed away, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at UnityPoint Health, Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church (1330 13th St, Moline, IL 61265). Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Moline Foundation-Dale Kruse fund, 1601 River Drive #210 Moline, IL 61265. The fund will be disbursed to ALS and Diabetes associations. In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask at all services.
Dale was born on September 14, 1926, in Rock Island, the son of Clarence and Kate (Rittenhouse) Kruse. He married Betty Poppy on June 5, 1949, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover. Dale retired from Deere & Company in 1985. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Dale belonged to Cambridge Masonic Lodge #49. Dale's world revolved around spending time with his bride of 72 years, and his family. You could find Dale at all Moline activities as a proud Moliner. He traveled all over the US following his grandchildren. Earlier they were ardent square dancers.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Kruse; children, Stephen (Mindy) Kruse, Moline, Vikki (Steven Hansen) Hankins, Moline, Cindy (G) DeWitte, Moline, Terry Kruse, Moline, Daniel (Summer Lewis) Kruse, Maui, HI, Dianne (Charlie) Hall, St. Augustine, FL, Beth (Steve) Levy, Cary, NC; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Sara Hankins, and Nick Kruse; daughter-in-law, Krista Kruse; son-in-law, Ray Hankins; and brothers, Clarence, Warren, & Glenn.
