Deacon Dennis Duff

May 21, 1947-December 22, 2020

Deacon Dennis Duff, the son of Louis and Adeline Duff, graduated from Willow City Public School and married Linda M. Arneson on September 5, 1970 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Willow City, ND. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.

After living in Bettendorf for 37 years Deacon Duff and Linda retired to Tucson, AZ.

Deacon Duff was ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Gerald O'Keefe on June 2, 1984 in Davenport, IA. He spent many years ministering to Our Lady of Lourdes community.

A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parrish, located in Bettendorf, at a future date.

We are saddened to hear of Dennis's passing!!! It was always a pleasure to see and visit with the both of you at diaconal functions and especially at retreats when we had more time to catch up on life!!! Linda, be assured of our prayers for Dennis (he sure need's them, lollollol) and for you and all your family will be in our daily thoughts and prayers in a very special place. Know that you are loved and that love will always be our prayer for you!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Duff was my religion teacher, Freshman year at Assumption High School. He baptized my 2 sons at OLOL. He was a great role model to me and my brothers. My family will miss him dearly. Enjoy paradise Mr. Duff.....until we meet again.

One of our favorite deacons, most definitely our favorite at Lourdes. I remember how he would hold the cross during Holy Week (Good Friday) and it seemed to be a bit of a struggle, which was only appropriate. He was a great guy! Love and prayers to Linda.

Our family was blessed to know Dennis as both a deacon and as an inspector for the City of Bettendorf. His was a life well lived, and we are proud to have known him. He baptized many of our grandchildren and shared his love of Christ with us. Our condolences for your loss Linda.
