Donald "Paul" Cox

BLUE GRASS-Donald "Paul" Cox, 73, of Blue Grass, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Trinity-Bettendorf. Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of his life will be Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 1pm at the Word of Life Church in Rock Island. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Paul was born February 16, 1950 in Toledo, OH. He was the son of Donald A. and Marie A. (Clark) Cox. He married Donna Carstensen on August 26, 1988 in Davenport.
Paul started as a paper carrier for the Quad City Times and returned as a driver for them after retiring from the Davenport Police Department for 33 years of service. He retired from there in 2004.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, baseball and softball, He had served on several area leagues and boards. He had been a member of the USBC and the Davenport Police Association. His greatest joy however was spending time with his family. Paul was always willing to lend a hand and help anyone who needed it. He will be deeply missed!
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Donna, children: Christopher Cox, Davenport, Elizabeth (TJ) Zaragoza, TN, Jennifer Cox (Alex Cash) and Jeromy (Brenna) Cox, all of Davenport; grandchildren: Adrianna, Alexis, AJ, Colton, Hunter and Jace; siblings: Diane (Dennis) Bright, Davenport, Robert (Vicki) Cox, Hutchinson, KS, Carol (James) Glines, Eldridge, Douglas (Linda) Cox, DeWitt, Walter (Sandy) Cox, Blue Grass, Cynthia (Donald) Walton, Beverly (Rusty) Case, all of Davenport, Patricia Darland, DeWitt and Marcia (Bryon) Mirocha, Davenport along with numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and a niece, Tonya Ward preceded him in death.
