Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy M. "Dort" Beert, 92 of Eldridge, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove. Visitation will be Saturday. from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorials may be made to St. Ann's or Eldridge Fire Department.

Dorothy died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Kahl Home of Davenport, surrounded by family.
Dorothy Mae Lage was born May 25, 1931, in Davenport, a daughter of Edward Henry and Dora (Scheel) Lage. She was married to the love of her life, Robert J. Beert, on June 10, 1949, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove. They shared over 72 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2022.
Dorothy was a homemaker and later worked for the City of Eldridge for 20 years. Together, Robert and Dorothy were co-owners of Rustic Ridge Golf Course for over 25 years. They spent much time on the course and enjoyed many golf outings with family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Julie (Michael) Hoffmann, of Eldridge, Robin (Trudy) Beert, Long Grove, and Sandra (Rik) Powell, Marion, IA; a son-in-law, Bill Shockey, Eldridge; grandchildren: Scott (Jenny) Hoffmann, Dana (Dave) Virden, Todd (Angela) Sleep, Joseph (Alisa) Sleep, Stephanie (Kyle) Ganzer, Leslie (Billy) Hildebrant, Brock Beert, Bryant (Jenna Webb) Ferris, Luke (Shandy) Ferris; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beert; daughter, Trudy Shockey; her parents; sisters and brother-in laws, Betty (Donald) Lynch, Shirley (Donald) DeWulf, Mary (Cecil) Weaver; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Marlene) Lage. May they rest in peace.
