Ernest Hotz Jr.

December 21, 1932 - September 16, 2025

Ernest H. Hotz Jr., 92, passed away on September 16, 2025. Per Ernest's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be a graveside service held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. Folks are invited to gather at the graveside. Ernest will be laid to rest with his wife, Joan and daughter, Susan.

Ernest was born on December 21, 1932, in Davenport Iowa, to Ernest Sr. and Herta Hotz. He was united in marriage to Joan Martin on October 30, 1955, in Bennett Iowa. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage until her passing in 2003. Ernest retired from Culligan of Davenport after 40 years of service. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, handyman work and spending time with his family. Ernest was a very hard worker, a devoted husband and a loving father.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, David; grandson, Christopher (Katie) Hotz; great-grandson, Emmett; and sister, Irmgard Mierzynski.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan; daughter, Susan Hotz; and brother, William Hotz.
