DAVENPORT-Floyd A. Bayer, 84, a resident of Davenport, died Monday, February 14, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed and can be accessed through the church website at www.sjvbett.org and Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sjvbett. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Friday at church. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport is assisting the family with arrangements.
Floyd was born January 14, 1938 in Mott, North Dakota, the son of Matt and Agnes (Negaard) Bayer. He married Nina Sorenson, March 3, 1957 in Sturgis, South Dakota. She preceded him in death May 26, 2018.
Floyd worked for Climate Engineers and was a 60-year member of the Sheet Metal Union Local 91. He enjoyed camping, fishing, being outside in the yard, his workshop, and visiting with his "Taco Tuesday" friends. Floyd was a devoted family man.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Terry (Debbie) Bayer of Overland Park, Kansas, Rhonda (Dan) Elskamp of Davenport, Roxie (David) Johnston of Bettendorf, and Tim (Sharon) Bayer of Davenport; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Ardith (Don) Smith; brother, Darrell (Betty) Bayer; and brother-in-law, Gary Fink.
In addition to his wife, Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Peggy Fink.
Floyd's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the physicians and nurses who provided such excellent care to Floyd. A special thank you to the staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their care and support during his final days.

I´d like to send my condolences to the family. I never knew Floyd Bayers, but I was at a shop this past weekend and came across this photo. I took a picture of it in hopes that I would find a living member from this photo.
I don´t have the actual photo on me, but I took a picture of it at the shop.
I hope the family sees this and saves the picture.

Floyd will be greatly missed and I am so glad that I got to enjoy over 45 years of Floyds company with the Bayer Family and over 30yrs of Deer Hunting together. It's a sad day but I am glad you are at Peace...
