Frank R. Ammerman

Frank R. Ammerman, 81, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities or to Kings Harvest Ministries, Davenport.
Frank was born in Colona, Illinois on November 25, 1944, the son of Frank and Viola (Jordan) Ammerman. He graduated in 1962 from United Township High School in East Moline. On September 22, 1962, Frank married the love of his life, Judy K. Gomez. Frank worked as a piece worker and inspector at John Deere Foundry in Silvis. He retired from the experimental department when the foundry closed in 1993, after 25 years of service. He then assisted with job placement and training with the Job Training Partnership Act of 1982. Frank was an avid golfer and enjoyed going on golfing trips with his buddies to South Carolina. He and his wife loved to travel and spent 30 wonderful years residing in the warm climate of Texas. Frank also served as vice president of United Way. Above all, Frank was a loving and caring family man, who thought the world of his daughters.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Tammy LeCleir of Davenport and Christine (Patrick) Chandler of Erie, Illinois; grandchildren, Angie (Kristen) Borgeson of Phoenix, Arizona and Kayla DeMarlie of Silvis; step-grandchildren, Jordan (Delainey) Chandler of Cordova, Illinois, Brooke (Max Morlock) Chandler of Nashville, Tennessee, Dylan (Andrew) Bomleny of Fenton, Illinois, Shawn Chandler of Erie, and Matthew (Jessica DeWitte) Powell of Moline; great-grandchildren, Mya, Macie, and Baylor DeMarlie; step great-grandchildren, Matthew Powell Jr., Alliaha Powell, Xzayvier Powell, Marcus Bomleny, and Dawson Chandler; sisters, Sharon Brewer of Iowa and Joy (David) Kern of Texas; sister-in-law, Val Gomez of Illinois; brothers-in-law, Daniel (LeaAnn) Gomez and Anthony (Linda) Gomez, all of Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mark and Wendy Coggins of San Angelo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law; wife, Judy; sisters, Diana Duncan, Judy Mauk, and Gloria Ammerman; son-in-law, Tony LeCleir; brothers-in-law, Robert Brewer, William Gomez, and Junior Mauk; and his beloved dog, Snuffy.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Unity Point Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion. Nurses, Patrick and Darcy, and coordinator, Jade, helped to make this difficult time much easier with their kindness and support.
