Frank was such a good man. I have many happy memories, especially breakfast on Thursday mornings and trips to the dog racing park in Dubuque.
I will offer Mass for him in Iowa City.
My sympathy to Loretta and Frank, Joe, and Rita.
God bless you all.

We have lost a pillar of the Blue Grass Community. His long life shows a steadfast commitment in sevice of others. Just a few examples were his service in the Navy, his family, his church, his community, his farm, and the American Legion.
A cherished memory that Frank shared with me was that his father was the chauffeur to the Bettendorf family. As a child Frank lived in the second floor apartment in the Bettendorf carriage house! Frank spoke gleefully of his memories there!
Around 2006 I spoke with people at the Rivermont Collegiate school which occupy the grounds of the Bettendorf mansion. They excitedly agreed to have Frank visit and speak to students about his experiences there. Frank lit up as he toured the present day Bettendorf mansion, school and carriage house! What a happy day for Frank, myself, and all those that were lucky enough to hear him speak of his historic experiences there!
