DAVENPORT-Garrett J. Jewell, 28, of Davenport, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at his home in Davenport. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Honoring his wishes cremation will take place after services and inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. The service will be livestreamed by visiting Garrett's obituary at www.hmdfuneralhome.com. The link, which will appear at the bottom of his obituary, will not be accessible until 2:55 p.m. Masks will be required and social distancing practiced. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his family.
Garret Jaymes Jewell was born December 16, 1992 in Davenport, the son of Duane Eganhouse and MaryJo Jansen.
Garrett had worked as a subcontractor for Payne Drywall. He loved spending time with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents both of Davenport: his siblings; Tiffany (Michael) Abbott, Bettendorf, Tamira "Sister" (Daniel) Jewell-Labath, Dixon, Iowa, Brian Jansen, Grand Mound, Ashley Stoltenberg, Maquoketa, Kashia Myrick, Kelsey, Kendra, Jermaine, Gage, Alecia, Esmeralda all from Davenport and his second mom, Jennifer Myrick-Castaneda, Davenport: his nieces and nephews; Tristina, Trinity, Ella, Maya, Bryanna, Paxtstyn, Milliana, Bailey, Spencer, Baby Reese, Maxwell, Kepa, and Kai; a great nephew; Phoenyx; his grandmothers; Jane Jewell, Donahue, Pam Rico, Davenport and Barbara Jansen, Forrest, Illinois; his extended Brothers Ty Moore, Cody Mueller, Austin Thiering and Brandon Jensen; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins, and of course his baby mama Julia Garcia!
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Jewell, grandparents; Robert Jewell, Allan and Marcy Eganhouse, and Edwin Jansen, and his uncles, Mike Jewell and Gary Eganhouse and life long friend Tyler Ekstrand!
