DAVENPORT-A Memorial Service for Jacqueline "Jacque" R. Jurgens, 77, a resident of Davenport, will be 12 Noon Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. The family will greet friends Saturday from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Jacque passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, surrounded by her family.
Jacqueline Rae Jurgens was born January 24, 1942 in Davenport, a daughter of Harold E. and Dorothy A. (Hughes) Jurgens. She graduated from Assumption High School. Jacque was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and enjoyed crocheting, classical and reggae music along with the music of Leonard Cohen. She absolutely loved sitting outside on her porch, drinking her iced tea, coffee or cola, watching the children playing and birdwatching. Her contagious and unmistakable laugh will be so very missed by all.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Those left to honor Jacque's memory include her daughter, Nicole Jurgens, Iowa City; grandchildren: Samiya Batie and Christopher Montgomery; siblings: Judith (Paul) Aldape, South Bend, Indiana, James (Pam) Jurgens, Davenport, Jerome Jurgens, San Rafael, California and Joseph (Dee) Jurgens, Iowa City; nieces and nephews, Maggie (Phil Sandler) Jurgens , Christopher Jurgens, Isabel Jurgens, Michele Aldape, Patrick (Deanna) Aldape, Matthew (Melissa) Aldape, Joel (Tiffany Wise) Aldape, John (Lindsay) Aldape, Sarah (Rick Niedbalski) Aldape and Joy (Bryan) Humphrey; godsister, Rose (Arthur) Arrington; goddaughters, Karema (Pete) Lindsey-Weitzman, Kisa Hall, Misty Jenkins and godson, Zach Arrington. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Daysha Jurgens-Thorpe, and godson, Jeremy Lucas.
