Jerome Noel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome Noel from Long Grove, Iowa. Known as Jerry, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 86. Jerry was born to Donald and Velvetta Noel of Long Grove. He graduated from DeWitt High School followed by three years serving in the U.S. Army. After returning to Iowa he met his loving wife, Connie. They married in 1964, and Jerry graduated from Saint Ambrose College in 1965.
Jerry retired from the McLaughlin Body Co. in Moline, Ill. He loved spending time surrounded by his family, working outdoors on his farm, and dancing to music. He was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Long Grove where he was active in many capacities.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Connie of 60 years; his seven children, Stephanie (Allen) Tatara, Becky (Scott) Ford, Christine (Chuck) Baguss, Donna (Kurt) Klostermann, Jennifer (Mike) Van Speybroeck, Adam (Adolfo) Noel, and Sarah (Nick) White; his twenty grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Bill Noel.
The visitation will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Long Grove from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12 concluded by a prayer service. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13 with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Long Grove. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Ann's Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
