DAVENPORT-Jessie "Pepper" Jones Sr., of Davenport IA, passed away on January 20, 2021 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Services will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 3526 N. Brady St., Davenport on Wednesday, January 27; Visitation - 9:30 -10:30 AM; Funeral - 11:00 AM. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, attendance will be limited and CDC guidelines will be followed. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Jessie was born May 6, 1923 in Dunn, Louisiana to Wiley & Zola Jones. He married Lucy (Bryant) Jones on November 17, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2015.
Survivors include his sons, Jessie Jones Jr. and Jerry Jones; daughters, Melinda Jones, Gwendolyn Reid, and Lesa (Yolandas) Dixon; niece, Patricia (Brad) Vaughn; nephew, John Bryant, and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island.
