John Edward Dierickx

October 31, 1929 - August 12, 2025

John Edward Dierickx of Long Grove, Iowa died on August 12, 2025, on the farm where he was born on October 31, 1929, to Charles and Dora (Ranson) Dierickx.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, Long Grove, Iowa on Friday, August 22, 2025, followed by Mass at 11 a.m.

Inurnment will be held at St. Ann Cemetery, Long Grove, Iowa.

John was a lifelong farmer and loved every minute of that life. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, DeWitt, Iowa in 1948. He married Lolita T. McGuire on December 27, 1952, at St. Ann Church, Long Grove, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Lolita; children, John (Ellen Wolf), Robins, Iowa, Tom (Janice Noel) Biloxi, Miss., Mary Ann Shultz, Platteville, Wis., Rita (Dennis Carlson) Waukee, Iowa, Joe (Barbara Reuter), Rose (Kevin Lane), DeWitt, Iowa, Paul (Jayne Kluever), Charlie (Lori Seligman), and Pat (Lora Sebring) Long Grove, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Bradshaw and Angela Mowry DeWitt, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores Goodall; and brothers-in-law, Ray Goodall, Joseph Bradshaw, and Greg Mowry.

Memorials may be made to, St. Ann's Church Long Grove, IA; Empowering Abilities, Davenport, IA; and Catholic Worker, Iowa City, Iowa.

The family wishes to thank MercyOne Genesis Hospice and those family members who made it possible for John to die at home.
