ROCK ISLAND-John Thomas "Tom" Ohlweiler, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Friday, May 26, 2023 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Second Chance Pet Adoptions or Stead Family Hospital at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
Tom was born September 4, 1941 in Davenport, the son of John O. and Lucille (Hannah) Ohlweiler. He married Linda Scherrer on May 15, 1982 in Nashua, IA.
Tom was a 1960 graduate of Rock Island High School. He worked for former IH, Moline and later AT&T for 30 years retiring in 2001.
Tom enjoyed boating, golfing, fishing, and traveling.
He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, Becky (Mike) Matykiewicz, Orion, Kelly Ohlweiler, Moline, Kim (Mark) Duyvejonck, Moline, Todd Cather, Brooklyn, NY, and Tricia (Harold) Wallace, Alvaton, KY; 11 grandchildren; sister, Jane (Carl) Hinze, Moore, SC.; sister-in-law, Jenal Sproule, Benicia, CA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dick Ohlweiler.

The Brown family is saddened to hear of Tommy´s passing. There was always laughter when Tommy visited with my parents, Jim & Peggy, aboard the Seahorse.
