Joyce E. Anderson, 90, of Walcott, formerly of Blue Grass, died Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by her sons. Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Blue Grass. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Joyce was born June 22, 1935, in Davenport, IA. The daughter of Lyle and Mary (Hondl) Tathwell. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1953. She worked for Iowa Securities Co. and was president of the Davenport Association of Insurance Women.
Joyce was united in marriage to Richard L. Anderson on May 25, 1957, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. They have shared over 66 years of marriage, memories, and laughs together. She was a den mother for all three sons and loved her flower garden and books. She retired from Wells Fargo March 23, 1993, and also worked at the Almost New Shop.
She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and was a founding member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Those left to honor her memory are sons, Jeffery (Linell) Anderson, Malabar, FL, James Anderson, East Moline; and daughter-in-law, Becky Anderson, Blue Eye, MO; Her family is blessed with eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her son, Joseph; her parents; and her sister, Jane E. (Tathwell) Lewis. May they rest in peace.
