Judy was born October 27, 1967 in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Roger & Joyce (Hess) Cornmesser. She was a 1986 graduate of North Scott High School. Judy was united in marriage to Jeff Peer on October 3, 1986 and later to Scott Charles Hoag on February 11, 2017 in Wapello, Iowa with family rededication ceremony later that year on November 25 at Old St. Ann's in Long Grove and reception at the Old Library in DeWitt. Scott and Judy were graduating classmates who came together while planning their 30th class reunion.
Judy was employed last at Latham Pool in DeWitt, and many years prior at HNI Corporation in Muscatine, as well as 8 years at Hy-Vee in Davenport. She also was employed as a cook for a nursing home in Wapello.
Judy had a huge heart and would do almost anything for the loves of her life, including her husband Scott, children Samantha and Wes, grandson Henry and fur babies Sophie and Ronnie.
Judy also loved the very simple things, like the flowers in her garden, she loved pizza (her "frozen cardboard"), a large "crunchy pop" from Casey's, Christian and Country music and ice in her wine. She loved long walks, getting together with friends, loved treasure hunting at Good Will, watching her NCIS and cooking shows, and she loved rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs with family and friends. Judy had a love for sunflowers and pinwheels in her flower gardens.
Judy has an extensive snowman collection and loved decorating for Christmas.
Judy had a real talent at making flowers for weddings. She loved doing anything arts & crafts, including memory books.
Judy had a very strong work ethic, she took pride in her work and loved to see things carried out to perfection and completion. She worked very hard at keeping a very clean house and took a lot of pride in that.
Judy loved the Lord and attended Cornerstone Assembly of God in DeWitt: her church family she so embraced, and was involved in the Women's Group.
Judy had an infectious and keen sense of humor; her wit was unmatched. She had a way to bring a smile to anyone's face.
Judy had a wonderful passion for homeless animals. If money wasn't an issue, she'd adopt every one of them!
Judy is proud to have completed two Bix races!
Those left to honor Judy's memory include her husband, Scott; her daughter and her fiancée, Samantha Peer and Josh Bishop and Josh's children, Adeline and Lillian Bishop of Mount Pleasant; her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley & Sara Peer of Fort Madison; her grandson, Henry Peer; Scott's children, Karisa Hoag of Washington, Illinois, Kayla Hoag of DeWitt and Noah Hoag of Ames; her sister and brother-in- law, Joy & Jeff Whitmer of Eldridge; her brother and sister-in- law, Steven & Bonnie Cornmesser of Eldridge; her parents-in- law, Jack & Betty Hoag of Long Grove; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and her furbabies, Sophia and Ronnie.

Judy was a one of my best friends, my maid of honor, Godmother of my oldest son, and one of the three musketeers. She was always a joy to be around and always had something to talk about, most of the time humorous. She had a glowing personality and cared so much about the people in her life. Judy was a hard worker and deserved any opportunity that came her way. I will miss our dinner night and running errands, which more times than not crossed paths with someone Judy knew. She was so proud to introduce me as one of her best friends from high school. No matter how long between our visits, we picked up right where we left off. I will miss those times and just seeing her infectious smile and hearing her laugh. She will forever have a place in my heart.
My sincere condolences to the family who I´ve had the pleasure of knowing for decades. God must have a plan for her that I just don´t understand yet. She was an angel on earth, and certainly won´t be forgotten. I love you Judy.

My sincere condolences to Scott & family. I always enjoyed talking with Judy at various functions. She was so very loving and kind. We shared our love for our fur babies. I will always cherish Scott & Judy´s wedding day. Tom & I enjoyed their reception with all the love & happiness. This day was so special for them and us too as Tom & I went on afterwards to a wonderful dinner and Tom gave me an engagement ring. Lots of promises made that day! R.I.P. dear Judy. You will be missed.

Judy was a friend of mine for 42 years we met the summer of 6th grade playing on Summer Park and Rec softball. I was new to the area and hadn´t met a lot of friends she became my first true friend and for a life time she has been that person when you feel down you can pick up the phone and she would lift you right up. I never knew anyone that met her that didn´t immediately feel like she was a forever friend. I spent many a weekend as a stowaway at the Cornmessor home growing up and I am sure there were times Roger and Joyce wondered if I would ever leave, but when I did it was always after laughing constantly at Judy´s crazy shenanigans. I am going to miss her silly sometimes questionable humor, her beautiful smile, her perfect hair, and her presence in my life. She has always been there and I am just not sure what to do with out her! Until we meet again beautiful friend. I hope you know how much I loved you.
