DAVENPORT-L.E. Hamby, 78, was born December 4, 1942 in Paducah, KY passed away unexpectedly early Saturday, January 23, 2021 in his home in Davenport, IA. Months later, they were married and raised several children, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even helped with great-great-grandchildren over there 50+years together.
L.E. held several jobs throughout his 78 years of life including those of a milkman, gas station attendant and several years as a factory worker. His favorite position of all that he enjoyed the most and eventually retired from was working as a City Transit Driver for the City of Bettendorf where he loved making his passengers smile and felt as if he knew each passenger personally.
L.E. loved working with his hands and throughout the years, he took pride in his garden and Dahlias, woodworking, helping with cars and anything that he could tinker with. His most favorite thing of all was playing marbles, games and doing anything social with his friends and family.
