Lawrence J. Benac, age 87, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1978, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024 at The Springs of Monarch Landing. He was born on December 10, 1936 in Centerville, IA.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Phyllis; his loving children, Brian (Elsa) Benac of Marble Falls, TX, Michael (Michelle) Benac of Naperville, IL, Kevin Benac of Clearwater, FL, Cathy (Daniel) Gorski of Gurnee, IL, Karen (Keith) Darby of Sandwich, IL, and John (Ami) Benac of Plainfield, IL; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Laura Benac, Norah, Miles, Clara and Audrey Benac, Mark and Matthew Gorski, Kari and Bailey Darby, Ashley and Caitlyn Benac; his adored great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Shane, Wyatt and Piper; his dear siblings, Joseph (Lou) Benac of Bettendorf, IA, Robert (Jeanine) Benac of Columbia, MO, and Mary (John) Staniger of Ames, IA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Anna Benac; and his grandson, Ryan Benac.
Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He graduated from Saint Ambrose University and earned his MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Larry dedicated over 25 years to International Harvester/Navistar and retired at the age of 55. He continued his career as a consultant with Navistar up until 2018. Larry volunteered his time and talent to Turning Pointe Autism Foundation and Sharing Connections for many years.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, 1:00 until 5:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 1, 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Interment will follow at Naperville Cemetery.
