LeeAnn Dixon Obituary

LeeAnn Dixon

January 10, 1947 - August 23, 2025

LeeAnn Dixon, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Davenport, Iowa, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with kidney disease.

Born on January 10, 1947, LeeAnn lived a life defined by curiosity, compassion, and an unyielding drive for personal growth. She earned her Master's degree in English from Western Illinois University and channeled her love for learning into a diverse and inspiring career path.

LeeAnn began her professional journey as a go-go dancer on the television show "Where the Action Is," a spin-off of "American Bandstand." Following the show's cancellation, she became a beautician before pursuing certification as a Gemologist to work with fine jewelry. Her desire to serve led her to the Rock Island Arsenal's Defense Mega Center as a civilian employee. Later, she explored marketing roles at QC Times, WHBF, Power 98.9, and the Thrifty Nickel. Never one to settle, she also became a Respiratory Therapist and a Sign Language interpreter. Ultimately, her passion for language and education led her to teach English at Brown Mackie College after substituting summer programs at Augustana College.

LeeAnn's life was rich with purpose and connection. She cherished time with her family and grandchildren above all. She found joy in worship services, creative writing, and offering support to those in need. Her home was a refuge for many teenagers over the years, and her quiet generosity touched countless lives.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Terese (Benjamin) Wallace of Davenport, IA; grandchildren Hannah L. Price, Peyton J. St.clair, and B. Isaac Wallace; great-granddaughter SiYanna St.clair; sister Jana (Andy) Depape of Carbon Cliff, IL; brothers David (Glenda) Dixon of Amboy, IL, and Robert Dixon of Rock Falls, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth B. Dixon and Mary A. Dixon.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 4th at Christ Church of the Quad Cities, 403 3rd St., Colona, IL. Visitation will be from 4:30–6:00 p.m., with services beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by a late luncheon.

LeeAnn's warmth, intellect, and boundless generosity leave a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Earlier today

I've had the Amazing privilege of being LeeAnn's neighbor across the hall for 2 years and 4 months.
LeeAnn loved me and I Absolutely Loved her. She taught me Sign language and cultivated my love for learning and she is the reason I have a Master's in English. We've spent many hours/Days together Chatting, Watching TV, shopping sometimes and eating and just keeping a eye on each other. I'm going to miss her fiercely. My condolences and prayers go out to her Beautiful daughter Terese and her entire family. LeeAnn definitely was a Fierce Warrior and she's gone but she'll NEVER be forgotten
