Lori Swank Obituary
Lori Anne Swank , 68, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in her home in Savannah, Georgia. A Celebration of Life followed by dinner is scheduled for December 22, 2023 at 3pm at the First Baptist Church in Cordova, Illinois.
Lori was a graduate of United Township and Augustana College. Lori worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement.
The former Lori Anne Senko was born on December 31, 1954 in Silvis, IL as the favorite daughter to Lowell and Joanne (Morthland) Senko. Lori was previously married to Terry D. Swank.
Lori came from a long line of strong women who had a sharp sense of humor. She used this as a coping skill saying that you had to laugh about life or you would die. Lori could always make her mother and daughter laugh by yelling the running joke, "Tartar Sauce!?, why the hell do I want tartar sauce on my tacos!?" This joke has now been passed onto to Lori's Granddaughters.
She always dreamed of spoiling her grand children and was extremely proud of her children.
Lori loved helping other people and made a career out of it. Even after she retired she continued by caring for her ailing mother until her death.She loved her many trips to Disney World with her immediate family, brother, sister in law and nephews. Lori always loved family get togethers and looked forward to the holiday season. She would spend days preparing desserts and side dishes such as home made dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, cookies, pecan bars and pumpkin bars.
Lori is survived by her son, Brenton (Holly) Swank, Homestead, FL; daughter, Victoria (Joey) Lastinger , Savannah, GA; grandchildren Mikaela Swank, Georgia Lastinger; step grandchildren Brianna Lastinger, MaHaly Lastinger and Jake; sister in-law Deborah Senko, Moline, IL; nephews Christopher Senko and Matthew (Angie) Senko; aunts Linda (Terry) Calhoun, Bettendorf, IA; Rita Leighty, Pat Morthland, Kay Morthland , Cordova, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell O. Senko, mother, Rose Joanne Senko, brother, Mark A. Senko, uncles, Raymond Morthland, Donald Morthland; and aunts, Doris Mickle, Phyllis Millington.
