Marilyn was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, on February 4, 1937. She was the only child of Calvin and Treva M. (Scott) Moser. Growing up she loved going with her parents to the Iowa football and basketball games. Her parents owned cottages in Guttenberg, IA and Tomahawk, WI and she always looked forward to spending time at both places in the summers. In later years after having children of her own, she loved to take them there to experience the same joy.
She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, and yard and just being outdoors in general. She loved crafts, shopping, watching "The Bachelor" on Monday nights along with Hallmark movies, especially at Christmas time. Marilyn also loved listening to the 60s and 70s music on her transistor radio and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
She worked as an office assistant for a period of time and then worked as a self-employed housekeeper for a couple of area businesses while also working in the cafeteria at Maquoketa Valley High School.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Kim (Richard) Riley; Tracy (John) Oster and April (Alan) Burkey; grandchildren: Aaron (Laura) Riley, Sean Riley, Paige Riley, Chance (Sarah) Oster, Lucas Oster, Brittany Hines (Coleman Fullerton), Brianna Hines and Hunter Burkey and great-grandchildren: Hayden Riley, Kamryn Riley, Wade Sountris, Braxxton Fullerton, Cooper Oster, and baby girl Fullerton, due in July.
The family would like to thank the staff at Genesis East ER, the Neurology Department, Dr. Matt Neil and the loving, caring staff at Clarissa Cook for the wonderful care shown to Marilyn and her family. Your kindness will not be forgotten!
