Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Marilyn Sersig, 96, of Davenport, will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. Alphonsus Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-6 pm on Thursday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home and from 9 am until time of services on Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or CASI.

Mrs. Sersig passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Marilyn Jeanne Reimers was born August 11, 1928 in Iowa City, to Henry W. and Gertrude (Beenk) Reimers. She was united in marriage to Loyal Sersig on September 5, 1953 in Davenport and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2002.

She was a homemaker, and she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and later in life going to CASI, Cat Fish Jazz events and Red Hat Club.

Marilyn was a member of St. Alphonsus Church where she volunteered regularly. She was active in many organizations including Davenport Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Church Women United, Does - Lady Elks, Davenport Share Food and Letter Carriers Auxiliary.

Survivors include her children Michael (Ann) Sersig, Catherine (Jesse) Borcher, all of Davenport, Christopher (Erica) Sersig of Rock Island; grandchildren Jacob and Adam Borcher, McCullen, Octavia, and Michaella Sersig, Aiden Thurman, Raiden and Lilly Swanson; sister Kathy (Jack) Sheppard of Lake Bluff, IL; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Myron Swanson of Davenport.

Additionally she was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Winters and brother Henry E. Reimers.
