Mary Watson Obituary
May 30, 1957 - September 7, 2024
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mary Lou Watson, 67, of Davenport, will be 12 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at Harvest Time Family Worship Center, 636 Kirkwood Blvd, Davenport. where she was a long-time member, with Apostle James E. Lee officiating. Visitation will be 11 until 12 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.
Miss Watson died peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 7, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born May 30, 1957, in Forrest City, Arkansas., a daughter of the late Louise Blanton and Guy Watson, Sr. Mary graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1977. She was employed at the Kahl Home as a dietary aide and cook's assistant, proudly retiring after 21 years.
Mary so loved the Lord and in her spare time she enjoyed reading and studying her bible, cooking and dining out with family and friends. Her weekend passion however was shopping the dollar stores, all of the thrift stores and garage sales!
Survivors include her sisters, Zettie (Harry) Head, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Katherine (Roy) Hearn of Davenport, Brenda (Michael) Watt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brothers, Guy (Bonnie) Watson, Jr. of Widener, Arkansas, Henry Watson and Milton (Tammie Putt) Watson, all of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ernest Watson, Alonzo Watson, and Sylvester Watson, sisters, Pearlie Mae Allen, Emma Watson, Labertha Watson and Diann Watson.

I am saddened to learn of Mary's passing. As a longtime volunteer at the Kahl Home, I would often see her smiling joyful face. She was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed greatly! May she be blessed and rest in peace.
