April 4, 1992 - April 26, 2024
Matthew Chaney "Lil Maddie" beloved son of Cassandra Chaney and Robert Chaney passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2024, at home with his family.
Upon his request Matthew will be cremated and a celebration of life will be Friday, May 17, 2024, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Rapid City Community Center (1204 4th Avenue, Port Byron, IL, 61275).
Memorials may be made to the family.
Matthew was born April 4, 1992, in Rock Island, IL. He attended Riverdale School District in Port Byron. He currently worked at John Deere Harvester. He was all about his family and loved hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, and he loved his best friend "Tank."
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Cassandra Chaney; wife Ginger Chaney; siblings: Teresa Fentress, Michael (Amanda) Fentress, Robert (Stephanie) Chaney, Bailey Biscontone, and Keyshia Chaney; daughters: Hailey, Ashlynn, Olivia, and Bristol; son Jeremiah; sisters-in-law: Angie Fentress, Samantha (Ryan) Erling, Kylie Lyon, Faith (Dylan) Whitmarsh, and Mykel (Andrew) Ruhnow; stepfather, Alan Weatherington; several nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father Robert Chaney; father-in-law, Randolph Williams; maternal grandparents, Mike (Mary) Whitmarsh and Helen Miller; brother, Kevin Weatherington; brother-in-law, Colin Lyon; and paternal grandparents, Cara Deppe and Buck Chaney.
