November 25, 1995 - August 24, 2024
Megan Eileen McCubbin, 28, of Camanche, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 12 p.m., at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her family for an education fund for her children.
Megan was born on November 25, 1995, in Davenport, Iowa, daughter of Mark McCubbin and Mary "Mimi" (Mulligan) LaMar.
Megan had worked at Spring Park Oral Surgeons, Davenport, and most recently with Mercy One, Clinton. She enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, boating, fishing, and frogging. Megan and Hunter enjoyed cooking meals together. Above all she loved her family, especially her children Leila and Brooks, and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be deeply missed. Her family always loved her "meganisms" and will surely miss the laughter it brought to them!
Those left to honor her memory include her significant other Hunter Vogel; children Leila and Brooks; parents Mark (Karen) McCubbin and Mimi (Billy) LaMar; siblings Kayla McCubbin, Patrick (Ahrian) McCubbin and Brian (Stephanie) Heritage; stepsiblings Katlyn LaMar, Nicole (Jake) Airgood, Morgan (Matt) LaMar, Stephanie (Andrew) Birsa, Lauren (Daniel) Birsa and Alexandria (Patrick) Birsa; and many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by stepsister Jacqueline Birsa and her grandparents Jack and Kathleen Mulligan and Donald and Martha McCubbin.

Though I did not know this young lady I worked with her father many years ago at Oscar Mayer in Davenport, Iowa. My deepest sympathies to the family. And to Mark I say that I do not pretend to know how you are feeling now. But I know the pain you are going through. My wife and I lost an adult daughter many years ago so, unfortunately, we share the same grief. My hope to you and your family is that someday you will find peace and happiness.
