Michael D. Yonts

November 2, 1950-October 24, 2021

DAVENPORT-Michael D. Yonts, 70, a former resident of Davenport, IA, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at VA Medical Center in Orlando, FL. Per his wishes he will be cremated with a memorial service to follow in the spring of 2022 at Lindsay Park in Davenport, IA.

Michael was born November 2, 1950 in Davenport, IA, the son of Leonard and Madeline Yonts (Sullivan). He served in the Army for four years and was stationed in Germany.

Michael spent most of his career as a barber working for Valerie Felton at the Village Barber Shop. His co-workers became like a second family to him.

Michael married Judy (Moss) July 9, 1982 but was later divorced. Together they had three children, Gary (DK) of Davenport, IA, Michelle (Mykel) of Winter Garden, FL, and Brian who resides in New Orleans, LA. He loved spending as much time as he could with his two grandsons Alex and Jaxon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia.

Served in the Army with Mike in Augsburg, Germany. He was such a great friend and we drank quite a few beers together. I lost contact when I was transferred to another post in Pirmasens. I have tried to look him up from time to time via GOOGLE without much luck but then saw the obit picture and knew it was Mike. I am very sorry for your loss...
