October 1, 1948 - June 5, 2025

Nancy J. Bach, 76 of Davenport, IA, died Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. A celebration on Nancy's life will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Duck Creek Lodge from 5 to 7 p.m. The address for Duck Creek Lodge is 3300 E Locust Street, Davenport, IA. A private burial was held at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, IL. Memorials may be made in Nancy's name to Vander Veer Botanical Park.

Nancy was born October 1, 1948, in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of John W. "Jack" and Virgieline M. "Virgie" Wright (Cederberg). She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is one son, Jeffrey B. Bach (Rachel) of Davenport, IA.

Nancy graduated from Galesburg High School in 1966 and went on to attain degrees in education from Augustana and Marycrest colleges. She spent the majority of her 40-year teaching career with the Davenport Community School District. She was active in her community as a Figge Art Museum docent and as a Friend of Vander Veer. She touched many other organizations during her lifetime. She also completed the Master Gardener Program at Iowa State University in retirement and was an avid gardener for much of her life.

I'm so very sorry for your family's loss. I got to know Nancy while teaching at Wilson Elementary many years ago. It was always fun to have a good laugh with her at the end of a busy day in the classroom.
