Nicholas "Nic" S. Johnson

Rock Island - Nicholas "Nic" S. Johnson, 41, of Rock Island, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. A celebration of life gathering will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Masks and social distancing will be required. Services will be broadcast via livestream at 10 am Thursday, February 4, 2021 by visiting www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Memorials may be made in care of any local animal shelter of your choice.
Nic was born on June 13, 1979 in Silvis, Illinois, a son of Scott J. and Bonnie J. (Schmitz) Johnson. He graduated Rock Island High School in 1998 and from Morrison Technical Institute two years later.
Nic married Jamie Buller on February 29, 2020 in Rock Island.
Nic worked as an engineering tech for several companies throughout his career and was currently working for the City of Davenport.
He loved cars and was a member of several car clubs in the Quad Cities including, Irresistible Kustomz and the Q.C. Gearheads. He was fan of the Minnesota Vikings and an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. Nic also enjoyed road trips, spending time with his family and he loved his cat, Abby.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jamie Johnson, Rock Island; parents, Scott and Bonnie Johnson, Rock Island; sister, Heather (Brett Green) Johnson, Davenport; grandmother, Katie Schmitz; step-children, Emily Myers and Evan Buller, both of Rock Island; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Loren Schmitz, paternal grandmother, Bertha Johnson and great-uncle, Ed Berdice.
