Paula "Tonie" Irene Ahrens

DAVENPORT-Paula "Tonie" Irene Ahrens, 77, of Davenport, IA, went home peacefully to heaven on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her side. A celebration of life will be held in late September so that family and friends can share memories and condolences. Online condolences may be expressed at ww.rungemortuary.com.
Tonie was born the daughter of Elbert and Margaret (Smart) Wisely in Moline, IL, on August 29, 1945. She graduated from West High School in 1963 and later Hamilton College. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Gary Lee Ahrens. As a young woman she worked as a nurse at the Osteopathic Hospital.
Tonie was a very intelligent and independent woman. She was a very happy, loving and proud homemaker that loved caring for her family. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Tonie was a Master Gardner and Fantastic Chef. Her favorite flower was the rose. She loved Elvis and The Supremes.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Lori (Michael) Taylor, Angela Ahrens, Clayton (Candice) Ahrens, and William (Jana) Ahrens; step-mother, Jewel Wisely; siblings: Bill Wisely, Steve (Vickie) Wisely, Jane (Michael) Wisely Krebs, Curt (Barbara) Wisely, and Willie (Debbie) Wisely; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She was preceded in death her parents and brother, Daniel Wisely.
