Robert Menes, 81, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the memory care unit of Kahl Home in Davenport.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Davenport Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.rungemortuary.com .
Bob was born on June 14, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Julius and Rose (Hamann) Menes. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1962. He trained with the U.S. Army and later served in the National Guard.
Bob enjoyed a long career as a designer, first at John Deere and later at HQ AMCOM, Rock Island Arsenal. He retired in 1993.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Spencer) Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Rose Menes; his son, Bobby Menes; and his siblings, Bill Menes, Rose Dunbar, Lillie Lampe, and Russell Menes.
