GENESEO-Roger E. Gadient, 81, of Geneseo, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his home. Graveside Services with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Cordova Cemetery, Cordova, IL. Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice.
Roger was born on March 29, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Helen (Maxwell) Gadient. He married Jean A. Hibernik on June 2, 1962 in Davenport. Roger served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1964. He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 25 for 54 years. Roger was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS and the former Philo Masonic Lodge #436. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and watching sports. He and Jean loved traveling and made annual trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Following retirement, they enjoyed living in Alabama for the past 20 years.
Roger is survived by his wife Jean; children, Paula (Dan) Tanner, Hillsdale, IL, Michael (Melissa) Gadient, Columbus, OH, Brian (Kelly) Gadient, Bullhead City, AZ; sisters, Sue (Al) Jackson, Davenport, IA, Mary (Bill) Stuart, Geneseo, IL; brother, Gary (Connie) Gadient, Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Patrick, Amanda, Megan, Michael, Kyle, Christopher, Nichole, Ryan, Shannon, Tara and Samantha; as well as 18 great grandchildren.
