Sandra Wittstock Obituary

Sandra Wittstock (McCauley)

August 5, 1947 - October 3, 2025

Sandra Kay "Sandi" Wittstock (McCauley), 78, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Senior Star Elmore Place, surrounded by her loving family. A Mass to honor her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Sandra was born on August 5, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, to John and Frances (Casanova) Wittstock. She graduated from Wahlert High School in 1965 and attended Clarke College in Dubuque. She was united in marriage to Patrick A. McCauley on September 9, 1967, and together they had four children. She went on to build a successful career in real estate with Ruhl & Ruhl Realtors, where her professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for others earned her deep respect and lasting friendships. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sandi was committed to her community. She gave her time to organizations including the Quad Cities Symphony, Junior Board, Parade of Homes, the PTA, and Home and School.

Sandi had a genuine love of nature which was evident in every flower she planted and every garden she nurtured. A proud Master Gardener, she found joy in designing landscapes, building gardens, and creating beautiful spaces filled with life and color. She loved shopping for antiques, reading and cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs with unwavering loyalty season after season. Among her most treasured relationships was her lifelong friendship with Ann Potter, a bond that brought laughter, comfort, and enduring companionship through every chapter of life.

Sandi brightened every day with her warmth, smile, and love. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be forever missed by her children, James (Jodie) McCauley, Jennifer (Edward) Kuyper, Colleen (Michael) Skolrood, and Joseph (Brandy) McCauley; and her grandchildren, Sydney and Caroline McCauley, Benjamin and Clementine Kuyper, Grant, Ella, and Madeline Skolrood, Colton and Conner McCauley. Sandra is also survived by her brother, Keith (Cheryl) Wittstock, and her beloved nieces and nephews. Her legacy will endlessly live on in her children and grandchildren, the gardens she helped create, and the countless hearts she touched along the way.
