Stephen Pic, 76, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025.

Stephen was born in Ludwigsburg, Germany to Andrew and Mary (Hnatyk) Pic. The family later moved to the United States, where he grew up in West Point, Iowa.

Stephen proudly served his country as a mechanic and electrical technician during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he pursued higher education and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Stephen worked for Case IH for several years before taking a position at the Rock Island Arsenal, where he worked as an industrial engineer until retiring after more than 20 years of service.

Stephen is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brian Waggoner of Papillion, Neb.; his grandchildren, Nathan and Kirsten; brothers, Walter, Michael (Terrye), and Victor, all of the Cedar Rapids area; nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

I worked with Steve at the Rock Island Arsenal. He had a fascinating history, having been born of Polish parents in a displaced person's camp in Germany at the end of WWII.
