CHARLENE BEVERLEY ERICKSON Charlene Beverley Erickson passed away peacefully at the Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, MN on September 21, 2023, at the age of 92, with her children by her side. She was born on March 25, 1931, in International Falls, the daughter of Frank Sr. and Ethel (Miltenberger) Bohman. She grew up in Ranier where she attended school in International Falls and graduated from Falls High School in 1949. Charlene worked for the County Treasurer, Harry Erickson's Grocery, the Rainy Lake Chronicle Newspaper and was a US Customs Supervisor. She also worked with her husband in commercial fishing on Rainy Lake and owned and operated Bald Rock Camp. Charlene attended Ranier Mission Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading, fishing, painting, knitting, playing cards, and listening to music. Charlene had a unique way of doing things. She loved the outdoors and knew the name of every chipmunk in the forest. Legend has it that she once caught a partridge with a dip net. Charlene loved a good game of cribbage and shooting pool with her family, and she also could clean a whitefish almost as fast as her son. She loved people and the coffee pot was always on at the Erickson House. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren; parents, Frank and Ethel; brothers, Frank, Melvin, and Don; sister, Muriel Walls; and brother-in-law, John Walls. Charlene is survived by her children, Wayne (Robin) Erickson of Ely; Sheri Erickson of Ranier; and Joni (Stuart) Feaver of Ranier; grandchildren, David (Julie) Erickson of Andover, MA, and Christopher (Samantha) Erickson of Owasso, OK; great-grandchildren, Anaya, Christiana, and Coen; and her brother, Douglas (Jan) Bohman of Port Isabel TX; and many nieces and nephews. As per Charlene's wishes the family is planning a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Heart Association or the cause of your choice.
