KELLY SHAWN GREEN
With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Kelly Shawn Green, 62, of International Falls, Minnesota, who entered eternal rest on June 4, 2025.
Born in Fort Frances, Ontario on October 10, 1962, Kelly was baptized into the Catholic faith, a faith that remained at the very center of his life. He graduated from Falls High School in 1981, where his lifelong love of music first took root playing in the school band and the Dirty Dozen. That passion for music continued throughout his life as he played guitar, bass, and percussion, often sharing his talents at church and teaching youth. Music wasn't just a hobby for Kelly - it was one of the ways he connected with others, served his community, and expressed his joy.
After graduating Falls High School in 1981, Kelly went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of St. Thomas in 1991, blending his love of language, learning, and faith. He later built a career that reflected his wide range of skills, from sales and insurance to caregiving, always driven by his commitment to serve others.
But above all, Kelly was a man of deep faith and family. His involvement in church ministries, including RCIA, St. Paul's Outreach, and Mission Mississippi Youth, reflected the sincerity of his Catholic devotion. He found peace and happiness in simple moments: spending time at the family cabin in Fort Frances, sharing music and conversation around the table, and enjoying long card games with those he loved most.
Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Charles Green, brother-in-law, William Sutch and his nephew, Anthony Green. He leaves behind his daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) and Susanna (Bart); his loving mother, Elissa Green; his sister, Wendy (Nicholas, Jared, Kristin, Baylor, Lakyn, Alyssa) Sutch; his brother, Chuck (Diane, Charlie, Jesse, Curtis) Green; and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know his warmth, humor, and quiet strength.
Kelly's family and friends will gather privately for a celebration of life, and welcome others to honor his memory in the ways most meaningful to them.
