MARK LEVENE Obituary

MARK ADRIAN LEVENE Mark Adrian Levene of Virginia MN (formerly of Intl Falls), passed away on Dec 14th, 2023, at the Essentia Health Hospital after a lengthy battle with respiratory issues. His wife Ann was ever present at his side. He was 68. Mark was born on Oct 22, 1955, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge IA, the first-born son of Charles Adrian and Jane Ellen (Eckerson) Levene. He resided with his family in their hometown of Pocahontas IA until 1973, when they moved to International Falls MN to operate Northernaire Floating Lodges. Mark took quickly to the mechanical side of the business, and through on-the-job training and years of advanced mechanical schooling, he became an outstanding outboard mechanic. He eventually opened his own business, Levene Marine, in the Falls. He then advanced to working for OMC/Johnson in Kenosha WI where he coached and trained outboard mechanics from across the country. After OMC, he settled in Virginia MN working for Duane's Marine where he met the love of his life Ann Diana Jensen. Mark and Ann were married on April 9, 2016 in Mountain Iron, MN. Mark was an avid hunter and sportsman throughout his life. He inherited his father's passion for guns and became known as an excellent marksman. His favorite pastime was sport shooting, which he enjoyed with his wife, family and friends in Minnesota. Mark was preceded in his death by his parents Charles and Jane Levene of International Falls MN, and younger brother Jerry Levene of International Falls MN. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Ann (Jensen) Levene of Virginia MN, his Aunt Ellie (Dick} Russell of Des Moines, IA, his Aunt Harla Vial of Pocahontas IA, brothers Tom (Rhonda) of Dallas TX, Bob of Dallas TX, John (Mary Jo) of Nashota WI, Jim of Phoenix AZ, and Chuck (Karen) of Dallas TX. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Mark will be held in the summer of 2024 on Rainy Lake, date yet to be determined.
