NORMA ERNST Obituary

NORMA DEAN ERNST (FINNELL) Norma Dean (Finnell) recently passed away, just three days short of her 96th birthday. Norma Dean was happily married for over 50 years to Bill Ernst. In 1968 they moved to International Falls where she enjoyed teaching elementary school for many years. After retirement they moved to Champlin to be close to family. Bill proceeded her in death in 2000. Norma Dean loved traveling, reading, buying shoes, and her family. Known as "Grandma Dean," she was a loving, fun, kind, and generous mother, grandmother and friend. Her surviving family members have many happy memories of time spent with her, including her son (Michael Ernst and wife Nikki Ernst), daughter (Barbara Bolin and husband Michael Bolin), grandchildren and their spouses (Todd and Christie Ernst, Stacy and Mark Chase, Rebecca and Kevin Swenson, Mark and Michelle Bolin) and great-grandchildren (Spencer Chase, Libby Ernst, Josie Swenson, Wesley Chase, Evan Ernst, Gavin Bolin, Greta Swenson, Cameron Chase, and Samantha Bolin). Long time friend, Emmi Lattu kept Norma Dean smiling with her weekly cards and good humor. Thank you to the staff at St Therese of Oxbow Lake for their compassionate care. A private memorial will be held at Fort Snelling at a later date. The family requests donations to the Falls Education Foundation in lieu of flowers. https://www.fallseducationfoundation.com/contact.html
