William Harrington Obituary

William "Bill" Harrington, age 87 of Glendive, Montana, passed away on April 16th, 2024 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive. He was born on April 29th, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of William and Arista (Harrington) Boggs.

After meeting in Salt Lake City, Bill was married to Nanci Paulsen on August 9th, 1984. His loving wife and best friend Nanci passed away in 2020 following a brief illness.

In addition, Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marianne Campbell; son, William "little Bill"; daughter, Marisa "Missy" Parsons and grandson, Preston Boggs.

He is survived by his children, William "Biff" (Laurie) Boggs of Boise, Idaho, Katha (Tim) Lemoine of LaSalle, Michigan, Holly (Mike) Soter of Draper, Utah, John (Tameria) Harrington of Austin, Texas. Bill had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren in multiple States. Bill and Nanci's beloved dogs (Murray and Kay-zee) found loving homes following their deaths.

Bill and his sister Marianne both lived and breathed broadcasting and led to over 140 years combined experience between them. They both were still on the air in their 80's much to the amazement of family and friends. Bill's amazing career started while still in high school, where he worked as a DJ at the local radio station in Gallipolis, OH. After graduating from Washington and Jefferson College in 1959, he worked at several radio and tv stations anchoring the sports, news and weather. Bill's early career took him from Gallipolis to Tiffin, Toledo, and Dayton.

In 1968 Bill moved to Salt Lake City, where he worked KCPX TV and Radio as a sports anchor and later started ADV Harrington, an advertising Agency. In 1984 Bill and Nanci moved to Rapid City, SD, where he was the news anchor for several years. In 1991, they went to Miles City/Forsyth, MT, where he was the station general manager KIKC. In 1997 Bill and Nanci purchased KWOR in Worland, Wyoming, where they ran the station until they sold it in 2008.

Bill moved to Glendive in 2008, where once again he found his passion by hosting a morning show at KXGN retiring in 2023.

Bill's family lives "States away" from Glendive, MT, and Bill did not want to leave his lovely "hometown". The family would like to thank the core acquaintances that went above and beyond to help with Bill during the last year. You were truly amazing.

Services will be held at a later time. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Bill was a fellow graduate of GAHS in Gallipolis, Ohio, in 1954. We played in the school band together. He was always a good and kind friend. I missed having contact with him over the 70 years since we graduated.

Bill was our neighbor for many years. He was such an interesting man with the best stories to tell. He loved his dogs so much. He will be missed.
