Bryan L. Kessel

January 18, 1966 - February 11, 2025

Bryan L. Kessel, 59, Bowdle, died Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Belfield, ND with Fr. Shane Campbell, Celebrant. Interment follows at the Church Cemetery. Lector will be Loretta Fazekas; Offertory gift bearers will be Shelby Thex and Jordan Thex; and Musicians will be Robbie Obach and Elaine Johnson.

Bryan Louis Kessel, son of Vinette (Dutchuk) and Louis Kessel, was born the oldest of four children on January 18, 1966 at Dickinson, ND. He was brought up 15 miles NW of Belfield. His formal education consisted of St. Bernard's Catholic School through 8th grade; Belfield High School, Class of 1984; and Black Hills State University in Spearfish from which he earned a Bachelor's degree. He then took employment with Larkin-Jones Appliance in Belle Fourche for eight years, worked at Slumberland in Rapid City, and managed Karl's TV and Appliance in Gillette, WY. His last move was in 2018 when he relocated to Bowdle. Until the day of his death, he was employed with his brother, Michael and sister-in-law, Michelle, at Double M Crop Service. Bryan's pastimes included gardening, golfing, DIY home projects, and reading. He will also be remembered as a long-time fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bryan is survived by twin sons-Alexander and Zachary of Cerulean, KY; one brother, Michael (Michelle) Kessel of Bowdle; two sisters-Lorie (William) Thex of Ashland, MT and Lisa (Richard) Gantz of Alva, WY; several nieces and nephews and one great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis, on July 21, 2022 and his mother, Vinette, on November 3, 2020.

Honorary bearers will be Staff at the Avera St. Luke's Dialysis Unit and Mark and Melissa Lewandowski of Rapid City.

Casketbearers will be Quinn Kessel, Miles City, MT; Nathan Thex, Ashland; Koltin Gantz and Keegan Gantz, Alva; Kevin Kessel and Devon Kessel, Belfield.
