My memories of Great Uncle Cal from childhood are that of a handsome man that looked just like his brother, my Grandfather John Kushman and I thought that there could be no kinder, gentler men alive. I send my sympathy to Cal's entire family and friends.

What I will always remember most about you Grandpa K is your humor, and kindness to all. You really were in all sense of the word a true gentleman. I'll never forget during almost every meal we shared you always said the same thing about the food which also describes you perfectly "This is awful....GOOD! And you were good better yet great! I know everyone will miss you deeply, especially Grandma K, and it makes me happy and at peace to know your are now reunited with Grandma Opal and I hope you two are having a wonderful reunion. I love you Grandpa. We will see you someday again,

Love,

Tim, Julie, Sam and Joe

Grandpa K. -

I will always remember your silly jokes, my eyes being blinked, smooth-n-rough face and your love. I will never forget my car trip to Texas and singing in the car for the tape recorder. What great times we had in your Rapid City basement house putting on Christmas talent shows. You are a wonderful grandpa with lots of love for your family. Enjoy your place in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ and tell my dad "Hi!" for me! I will see you again someday!!

Lots of love, Niki, Aaron,

great-grandsons Tyrus and Haiden

Dear Kushman Family:

What shocking and sad news to read of Cal's death. I knew and respected Cal and Darlyne when I was active in Shaklee in Rapid City.

My prayers are with your entire family. May God be with you during this very sad time.

Dear Grandpa K,

You were always very passionate about loving your family and your Shaklee business. I will remember that always. I'll never forget having my eyes blinked, the basement of your house in Rapid where our families loved to be together (especially for our huge gin-rummy tournaments), those beverage dispensers you had, and how happy you were to see me and your great grandkids. Love you, Angie Nelson, husband Gale, and great-grandkids Jaxon, James, and Madilyn

To my Dad:

If ever your youngest daughter knew delight it was sitting on your knee Dad… and hearing you start singing the Pony Boy song.

“Pony Boy! Pony Boy! Won’t you be my Pony Boy!”

Bouncing up and down we’d go and go until I barely could hang on. I’d laugh and love you and think you were the very best dad ever. Just when I’d think you were done…off you’d go again up and down and all around.

Today... and always I am hanging on... to my fondest memories of you, dear Dad.

Love,

Your Dixie D.
