I am so sorry for your loss.. he seemed like a wonderful man. I was quite surprised by how many people connected this with the postsecret dog tags. It was nice to be able to put a face with the name.

I also saw the dog tags on p.s., they touched me because they look just like my grandfather's WWII dog tags.
My condolences to the family, I hope you find peace.

My deepest sympathy to all of you in this sad time. Everything happened so fast that I'm sure you are all still in shock. Share the wonderful memories you have of your Dad with each other and hopefully that will ease the pain a little.

My prayers and sympathy go to you Jean, Deb and Donald. I met and was acquainted with Mr. McCarthy through Mary Rosa, my sister-in-law. Although I only saw him occasionally at family gatherings, the impression I took away was a gentle soul, whose kindness made the world a better place. I'm sorry for your loss.
