David Stuckey Obituary

Former Rapid City and Sturgis resident David Ernest Stuckey age 69 passed away at his home on Sunday February 11th, 2024 in Acworth, Georgia surrounded by family. David was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on January 10th, 1955.

He is survived by his wife Michele Georgette Stuckey, sons Adrian Stuckey and Calvin Stuckey, daughters Angela Rose and Sara Zapp, his grandchildren Adrianna Stuckey, Haley Stuckey, Elias Stuckey and Ella Stuckey. He is also survived by his brothers Dan Stuckey and Larry Kincaid.

David loved music. He played the drums and harmonica in many bands throughout the Black Hills and he loved to encourage other musicians to pursue their dreams. His love for classic rock is remembered by all his family. "Gee Dad, Bob Seger and The Eagles again?"

He also loved riding his Harley with friends and family.

A celebration of life will be held this summer in Rapid City. Plans are being made at this time.

The family asks that in remembrance of David, buy that ticket for the concert you've been wanting to see, drive the Black Hills on a beautiful day but most of all PLAY THAT ROCK AND ROLL!!!!

My deepest sympathies to his family everywhere. I have very fond memories of getting to know Dave through my sister and her husband Greg Hoffman. He was such a kind man. And very fun and funny. When Greg and I took him the the airport so he could go back to Florida, he gave me a long and sincere hug. I remember it like it was yesterday. Always will.

There are too many memories to name just one. For sure it would be after a gig hanging out at either your home or mine sharing food, drink and a love of music. Dave always just went with the flow. I loved that we remained friends and visited each other after we both left Sturgis at different times for different reasons. I loved visiting your home in GA. In true Stuckey fashion, Dave rolled out the red carpet for my friend he had never met before. Sara served up the famous Stuckey pasta...that I never knew about. Dave and Michele created a fantastic lifelong marriage. Role models. This is how it is done. Perseverance is key to then and now.
