Dorothy Jackson Obituary

RAPID CITY - Dorothy Lee Jackson, 88, Rapid City, died Sunday Nov. 27, 2005 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Dorothy was born June 6, 1917 to Larry and Catherine (McGerty) Scarborough in Ft. Worth, TX. In 1935 she graduated from St. Michael's Convent High School, in Dallas, TX. Dorothy married Horace R. Jackson on June 16, 1953 in St. Paul, MN. They later moved to Rapid City, SD in 1961 where she has lived since. Dorothy is survived by 1 son, Roger Jackson, FL; 1 daughter, Sylvia Truelsen, Bucerias, Mexico; 2 step-children, Ralph and wife Jackie Jackson, Portland, OR; Helen Shepperson, Black Hawk; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; special friend Jane Rager, Rapid City and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Horace, March 30, 1987; 2 sons, John W. Jackson II; Larry M. Dickerson; 2 sisters, Dorris Scarborough; Juanita Kilzer and 1 brother Larry Doyle Scarborough. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday Dec. 2, 2005 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Kevin Achbach celebrating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday Dec. 1, 2005 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home and one half hour before the service on Friday at the church. Interment will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.behrenswilson.com. Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
